December 2022 Luncheon & General Meeting
Normal is Overrated:
Kids Minds Matter and the Future for Mental Health Care in SWFL
presented by
Dr. Paul Simeone, PhD
VP and Chief Medical Executive of Behavioral Health at Lee Health
Did you know that 50 percent of all lifetime cases of mental illness begin by age 14? Did you know the ratio of population to mental health providers in Florida is 750 to 1? Did you know that 70 percent of youth in the juvenile justice system have a mental health condition? If you are not surprised by these statistics, then you may already know there is a mental health epidemic in SWFL.
Come, meet guest speaker Dr. Paul Simeone, PhD, VP and Chief Medical Executive of Behavioral Health at Lee Health, and learn about the great work of Kids Minds Matter and Lee Health in the battle to overcome the mental health challenges in our region. Kids Minds Matter was founded in 2016 as a community partnership. Its mission is to raise awareness and support for mental health services throughout the region. Dr. Simeone will speak about the important role of collaboration in finding solutions to the mental health challenges in Collier and Lee Counties. Dr. Simeone is also a leading advocate for legislative change to help local children and adults facing the challenges of mental health. Please join us!
