Celebrating National Voter Registration Day in Collier County

To coincide with National Voter Registration Day September 20, John Macdonald and Cath Maslyn held a voter registration event at Goodlette Arms Apartments in Naples. Goodlette Arms is the only residence of its kind in Collier County for Seniors receiving assistance. With 80% Spanish speaking residents, bi-lingual John did the heavy lifting registering voters. Many residents were verified online through LWVCC and LWVFL, confirming their ability to vote. Additionally, sample ballots were distributed. Events such as this, and LWVCC’s registration table at the Immokalee Garage Sale on September 10th, are increasing LWVCC’s visibility, making positive impacts, and building strong relationships in our communities. With less than a month remaining to register voters for the November primary, our Voter Registration team is ready to conduct additional events to register, verify and inform new and existing voters.
