“Decision 2024: A Voter’s Guide to the Six Amendment Proposals on the Florida General Election Ballot” The LWVCC Speakers Bureau already has several engagements to present the timely “Decision 2024” in our community. If you belong to an organization, live in an HOA, or know of a group of people who are eager to learn more about the issues on their ballots, we would be glad to arrange this presentation for your group either in person or by Zoom. Please contact Diane Preston Moore, Chair of the Speakers Bureau, to arrange the details.

Six proposed constitutional amendments are on the ballots this year for all Florida voters. Approval of at least sixty percent of the votes cast is required for a measure to pass.

The League of Women Voters of Florida has prepared a complete Guide to Florida’s Proposed Amendments. In this post from Sparker's Soapbox, Sandy Parker goes beyond the Guide with things to consider when voting to amend the Constitution in general and on each proposal in particular and quotes from supporters and opponents of each amendment.

Proposed Constitutional Amendments

A referendum titled “Allow Tax-Neutral Flexible Funding for Collier County Public Schools” is on the general election ballot for all Collier County voters. Approval of at least fifty percent of the votes cast is required for the measure to pass.

In this post from Sparker's Soapbox, Sandy Parker explains why the school district says the referendum is needed, what other counties have done to address the problem, how much money is involved, the history of the referendum, and more.
