LWVCC OBSERVERS AT THE CANVASSING BOARD
On October 2, four LWVCC members observed at the Logic & Accuracy Test conducted at the SOE Operations Center to demonstrate publicly the reliability of the ballot-counting systems’ equipment. During Public Comment, on behalf of our League, Mary Jo Nolin thanked the Canvassing Board Members and SOE staff for their clear demonstration of the free, fair and transparent ballot counting systems.
We are excited with the great turnout of volunteers to observe at the next five Canvassing Board meetings surrounding the ballot canvass and subsequent certification of the Nov. 5 general election. | | GET READY TO VOTE IN THE NOVEMBER ELECTIONS

Six proposed constitutional amendments are on the ballots this year for all Florida voters. Approval of at least sixty percent of the votes cast is required for a measure to pass.
The League of Women Voters of Florida has prepared a complete Guide to Florida’s Proposed Amendments. In this post from Sparker's Soapbox, Sandy Parker goes beyond the Guide with things to consider when voting to amend the Constitution in general and on each proposal in particular and quotes from supporters and opponents of each amendment.
Proposed Constitutional Amendments
A referendum titled “Allow Tax-Neutral Flexible Funding for Collier County Public Schools” is on the general election ballot for all Collier County voters. Approval of at least fifty percent of the votes cast is required for the measure to pass.
In this post from Sparker's Soapbox, Sandy Parker explains why the school district says the referendum is needed, what other counties have done to address the problem, how much money is involved, the history of the referendum, and more.
LWVCC Ambassador and past president Sandy Parker is the founder and publisher of Sparker's Soapbox, whose mission is to encourage and facilitate informed voting in Collier County | | |
