About this event
Join LWVCC at the Fall Film Series: Movies that Matter SWFL
presented by the Holocaust Museum
and Cohen Education Center
League members are invited to a screening of
The Grand Alliance
, part of the Steve Brazina Memorial Film Series at the Holocaust Museum & Cohen Education Center. Subtitled
Black and Jewish America: An Interwoven History,
this documentary recalls the 1950s and 1960s alliance between Black and Jewish communities during the civil rights movement.
After the screening and official panel discussion, League members will meet to discuss the film. We will reflect on the historical power of coalition-building, civil rights advocacy, and how these themes tie into protecting democracy, expanding ballot access, and exercising our right to vote.
Registration:
Free to attend. The League has reserved a block of tickets for members. Please register to reserve your seat in our block.
