Our Mission
The Social Policy Committee works on issues that effect the attainment of basic human needs for all members of our community. These issues include safe and sustainable housing; access to quality health care including general, mental and reproductive health services; adequate food availability and a safe environment, particularly the prevention of gun violence.
Program Plan 2024-2025
Objective 1: Educate and advocate for actions that support development and preservation of attainable housing for all income levels by supporting recommendations of the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee and the Collier County Community Trust Foundation.
- Meet with each member of the Collier County Board of Commissioners
- Write and submit op-ed’s 2 or 3 times a year, the first by April 2024
- Attend governmental meetings with relevant agendas
Objective 2: Educate voters about Amendment 4 by attending one or more tabling events and distributing factual information by May 2024
Objective 3: Promote and educate the community about safe gun storage by doing at least one presentation before June 2024 and one tabling event by March 2025.
