Protect Our Freedom!

Floridans Protecting Freedom group of women
Floridians Protecting Freedom is a statewide coalition of organizations and concerned citizens working together to protect Floridian’s access to reproductive health care and defend the right to bodily autonomy. FPF recognizes that all Floridians deserve the freedom to make personal medical decisions, free from government intrusion.

The League of Women Voters of Florida Board of Directors has voted to support this citizen ballot initiative campaign. To get this amendment on the 2024 ballot, one million signed petitions must be collected. The LWV of Collier County Social Policy Committee has started working on this task and we hope that you will join us in this effort.

Please read the instruction guide carefully—it is important that the petitions be filled out completely and accurately:
Abortion Access Volunteer Petition Collection Guide

Every petition needs to be filled out carefully and fully by a person registered to vote in Florida. The signature should match what is used for elections.

The petitions can be turned in at a local hub-Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Greater Naples, 6340 Napa Woods Way, 34116. The office is open Tuesday and Thursday from 9-2. There is also a locked mailbox in front of the office door where the petitions can be safely inserted. They can also be mailed to Petition Collection, P.O. Box 4068, Sarasota, FL 34230.

For questions, Janet Hoffman will be a Point Person.

AFTERNOON & EVENING EVENTS FOR OUR BUSY MEMBERS!

Our growing ranks include a number of people who work or volunteer during the day. They often can't attend our luncheons or morning committee meetings. The Membership Team is putting together a group of members to help us organize events in the late afternoon and evening. These events could focus on a speaker or topic—or be purely social and networking! If you’re interested, please contact Membership Team Chair Beth VanDamme.
