Libby Bramson

A League member, first in Illinois and now Florida, Libbie Bramson continues to be inspired by its “amazing, brilliant members,” the topics they study and the fact the League acts after sufficient study and consensus. Self-described as a “study nerd,” she enjoys creating actionable plans to resolve issues and then working as part of a team to implement the plans.

One of her proudest accomplishments with the League (in Glenview, Illinois) was establishing the first recycling center in the town, before recycling was widely accepted. She is now Vice President of the LWVCC, Chair of the Juvenile Justice Committee and serves on the Communications team.

Libbie had a career in education and the corporate world teaching high school history and then working for over 30 years in advertising and marketing. Her clients included AT&T Long Lines, Motorola, and Honeywell. Her career taught her the importance of teamwork, strategic planning, quantifiable goals, contingency planning and maintaining a sense of humor.

She attended the University of Pennsylvania and graduated from Loyola University, Chicago, with a B.A. in History.

Her deep concern is that we must not take democracy for granted. She is proud to be a Leaguer and appreciates the League’s focus on empowering voters and defending democracy.
