Janet Morris Hoffman

Janet Morris Hoffman is a bridge builder, deeply involved in issues important to her, always hopeful. Her approach to life is to “look at the light at the end of the tunnel always. Don’t focus on the bumps and ditches but look to what’s happening at the end.” She considers herself an active listener and strives to be non-judgmental.

Education and activism have always been at the heart of Janet’s life. With her BS in Education, she taught in Collier County public elementary schools for years, from pre-K classes to Fifth Grade, also running an English language program for farm workers’ children. She’s always been an activist, lobbying the state government on policies relevant to education and social justice.

Janet joined the League to get a clearer understanding of local and state government. As Co-President of LWVCC, she has cast a wide net and is involved across the board with most of the League committees. In all her committee work, she digs into the issues involved to understand them more deeply. She considers herself a life-long learner, always passionate about learning more, and “viewing issues from all perspectives, getting the whole picture.” Janet is continually inspired by the hard work and creativity of her fellow League members.
